AdventureCon 2009, Knoxville, TN
June 12-14,  2009

I headed toward Knoxville on the morning of June 12th and arrived at the hotel approximately 10:10am.  The hotel was able to check me in early, so I went ahead and unloaded my luggage and headed down to the convention for registration.  Registration was supposed to have begun at 10:00am at the convention center, but did not actually start until closer to 11:00am.  It was just after 11:00am when I registered, so I went ahead and grabbed me a bite to eat.

I got back from eating just before the convention started and did not have to wait long.  I went ahead and got a photograph with Lou Ferrigno.  Lou just had hip surgery a week ago.  I am very surprised he made it to the convention.  He seemed to be getting around pretty good for someone that just had hip surgery.

My next stop was Catastrophic Comics/William Katt's table.  He signed a photograph of that was taken at DragonCon 07 and of course I had another photograph made.  I asked him about the upcoming animated Greatest American Hero.  He indicated that they are working on it and it will include all of the voices of the original cast.  No release date was given.

I stopped by Todd Bridges table and chatted with him a bit.  Gary Coleman would be there Saturday and Sunday.  I planned on getting an autograph from the both of them on Saturday.  I then headed to the many vendors and mostly browsed their items.

It was then about 4:15pm and the convention was still going.  I was starting to get hungry so I went on to Ye Olde Steakhouse to eat.  I ate light (chicken and green beans).

On the next day, I stopped by Dave Prowse's table and got a photo and autograph for my nephew.  Later on I attended Dave Prowse's Q&A session.  Just after the session started, I noticed someone come in.  It was someone dressed up like the Terminator.  I got a picture of him after the session was over.  I think his costume was the best, in my opinion.

I stopped by William Katt's table and got an autographed photo and he signed my Greatest American Hero comics.  I took the opportunity to get another photo.

I have been to several of these conventions and really have never looked at the artist's tables.  I took some time to look at their work and it is quite good.  I'm not real sure why I never did look at the artist's work in the past.  I sure did miss a lot at the past conventions.

I ended up purchasing some artwork.  This first piece is of the current Doctor Who, David Tennant by Kevin Leen.

This next piece is of a Dalek and the Tardis (the blue box) from Doctor Who.  The artist is Jesse Rubenfeld.

The next two pieces are by Kevin Leen (Spider-man and Wonder Woman).
Great work on these as well.

I stopped by Todd Bridges and Gary Coleman's table to get an autograph.

Browsed by the dealer's table just looking and waiting on 4 O'clock.  At 4 O'Clock, the Costume Contest/parade started.  Click here to see the Costume contestants

Here is a video clip I combined with shorter clips that include the Costume Contest/Parade and Ray Park.

After the the costume contest that was it for me.  I went out to eat Ye Olde Steakhouse again.  This time I thought I would over indulge.  I ordered a Filet and Chicken with green beans.   I could not eat it all, so I had to bring it back to the hotel and ate it later.

It was now Sunday the last day of AdventureCon and it was going to be  short day for me.  I stopped by William Katt's table and chatted a few moments and then headed to the dealer's table to see if I could find any deals since this was the last day.

I ran into DeWayne Chase of DeWayne's World.  I hung around he and his buddys for a while.
