MegaCon 2011, Mar 25th - 27th 2011, Orlando, FL
Highlights from
MegaCon 2011 Day 2
The second day of the convention,
Saturday was the biggest day for MegaCon. Stan
Lee and William Shatner were the two biggest
draws. Hall D was just a sea of people and you
could not really browse the vendor’s area
without running into someone. Luckily I had 3
panels that I attended back to back – Stan Lee,
William Shatner and the cast of Star Trek: The
Next Generation (Jonathan Frakes, Marina Sirtis and Michael Dorn).
Prior and in between panels I roamed around
taking pictures. Here are members of the
501 Legion.
Here is R2 D2.
Yet another picture of K-9 from the Classic and
current Doctor Who series and the Sarah Jane
Adventures.
Yoda...
Batman, Joker and Joker's henchmen.
Superman. He looked very much like
Christopher Reeve in person.
Now that is the classic Spider-Man suit.
Just wait until you see the new Spider-Man
movie's version of the suit (All I can say is
ugly). Not the Sam Raimi Spider-Man, but
the new one coming out next year.
Ghost Rider...
Spider-Man...
Spider-Man, Venom and another Marvel character.
The first panel was for Stan Lee. Stan Lee
says he has a cameo in the new Spider-Man movie
coming out next year. Someone asked if
there were any of the characters that he created
that the writers changed to his disliking.
There were none except the movie adaptation of
the Hulk. He was bigger than what the
comics portrayed.
William Shatner has a documentary coming out in
the fall called The Captains. He has interviewed
all the captains of the various Star Trek
incarnations from The Next Generation to
Enterprise. I believe he even interviewed Chris
Pine (Captain Kirk in the latest Star Trek
Movie). According to Mr Shatner, the documentary
will be available pay per view on a new network
in the US. He says he has enough footage for 5
hours. The documentary will only be an hour long
though. Hopefully he can talk the studio into
more time. He mentioned that he will have a book
and album coming out this fall too.
Up next was the Star Trek TNG panel with
Jonathan Frakes, Marina Sirtis and Michael Dorn
